Stieff piano was considered one of the finest pianos made, superior even to the Steinway & Sons, because its piano action was made by Wessel, Nickel & Gross, world renowned and synonymous with the highest quality piano action that one could buy. It was founded in 1842 and was known and respected for building excellent pianos with highest quality materials for performance and incredible longevity. It will be refinished in a satin black finish and only the highest quality materials will be used (new Paulello bass strings, new Paulello plain wire strings in the tenor sections and Roslau plain wire strings in the treble sections, new Diamond nickel plated tuning pins, Abel natural felt hammers, Kluge natural key tops, reconditioned ebony sharp key tops, Wessel Nickel & Gross knuckles, and new string felts, key bushings, key pins, etc. It is a baby grand, size 5'2", with serial number 43240, built in 1928.
